Main Library being the heart of the Institute supports the research initiatives in all research disciplines of AARI. Our aim is to enrich and broaden the research based knowledge by providing a gateway to collections both within the Library and beyond and promote our resources including newly digital /digitised material.

Main Library of AARI is a Hybrid Library which contains both digital and print collections. At present it contains more than 177,000 digital collections as books, periodicals, laboratory manuals, research articles etc. which makes it the largest In-House Digital Library of Pakistan in agriculture sector. Print material related to various subjects including Plant Breeding & Genetics, Botany, Bio-Chemistry, Plant Pathology, Plant Physiology, Biotechnology, Entomology, Food Technology, Soil Science, Crop Management, Horticulture, Floriculture, Dairy, Government Publications, Gazettes, Dictionaries & Encyclopaedia, Economics, Statistics, Library & Information Sciences, English Literature, Pakistan affairs, Islam, etc. has reached figure of 25,000. The books have been classified using Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme (DDC).
